This was lovely！ I'm not usually one for chick lit （and I do not like that term）， but this was really enjoyable and relatable。 It's a novel about family relationships - and accepting that parents are only human too （getting divorced， finding new partners， making mistakes）。 The writing style is quirky and lighthearted and very funny in places， while also making readers feel for the characters as they are confronted with some pretty harsh truths and realities。 I loved the main plot too - the main This was lovely！ I'm not usually one for chick lit （and I do not like that term）， but this was really enjoyable and relatable。 It's a novel about family relationships - and accepting that parents are only human too （getting divorced， finding new partners， making mistakes）。 The writing style is quirky and lighthearted and very funny in places， while also making readers feel for the characters as they are confronted with some pretty harsh truths and realities。 I loved the main plot too - the main character trying to attend a dinner party in secret and listening in to all kinds of conversations while sneaking around the house like a very clumsy 007。 It was quite endearing。 So five stars to this book - I'm only sad that it's over already！ 。。。more

As cute as all Sophie kinsella books always are。 British messy family life that resonates with all of us。 Divorce， break ups， surprise pregnancy， romance and forgiveness-what more can you ask for。 They are at times funny and awkward and others heartbreaking and gut wrenching。 I can count on this author to bring me through a range of emotions with her books and come out smiling at the end。 Always an enjoyable read。
